Be Grateful Count Your Blessings

“If you’re worried and you can’t sleep/Just count your blessings instead of sheep.”

I find myself thinking about this song often because there are so many great things to be thankful for. Unfortunately,  we’re so busy with the hustle and bustle of everyday life that we don’t take enough time to appreciate what we sometimes take for granted. At Talkdesk, we recognize the importance of remembering what we’re grateful for, and we work for more great things to come every day!

We should count our blessings more often and I’d like to challenge you to share what you are grateful for. Here is what I’m grateful for:

Being a Talkdesker.

I’ve just celebrated my two-year anniversary at Talkdesk.  I joined this company because I was inspired by its vision to revolutionize the customer experience (CX) space, and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished during these two years! I’m grateful to our customers who have trusted Talkdesk, allowing us to go from a $1B to a $10B+ valuation, move from #66 to #17 on Forbes Cloud 100, and grow from ~750 to ~2000 employees to name just a few.

Celebrating gratitude month.

During the month of November we brought gratitude to life and celebrated the Talkdesk values that we abide by.

Courageous innovation.
We showcased leading CX solutions from across the Talkdesk Partner Ecosystem at Talkdesk Digital Showdown. Each participating partner’s charity of choice received $1,000, the runner-up’s charity received $5,000, and the winner received $10,000 to their charity.

Customer obsessed.
We are grateful for our customers. Everything we do is for our customers and we are committed to helping them create value and achieve success. Our customers speak for us, and we’re so honored to be on this journey together.

Trust and transparency.
We have a courageous and innovative mindset and are revolutionizing the customer experience industry, but we never lose sight of the trust our customers and partners have in us. That’s why we work hard to help companies control and keep their contact centers secure.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We believe that breakthrough results are obtained when we work together, represent the diversity of the communities in which we live and serve, and all feel a sense of belonging. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment that values and empowers every Talkdesker to be their best at work.

Community and environmental giving.
We encourage volunteering as a way to give back to our communities. All employees are invited to take Volunteer Time Off to make a positive impact in their community through volunteerism. More than an option, at Talkdesk we see it as an obligation to give back to our communities.

Our employee resource groups (ERGs) are an example of how Talkdesk puts into practice these values—we celebrate diversity, we demand inclusivity, and we empower people to make a difference in their communities. Right now, we have several volunteer actions occurring all over the globe, and we promoted our Talkdesk Movember Movement initiative during November to raise awareness for men’s health issues.

I’m grateful for working for a company that believes in the impact an organization and its people can make on the community at large, and that promotes and encourages initiatives that make a difference.

Counting so many blessings.

I’m grateful for the leadership team at Talkdesk. We are setting a new standard that I wish all tech companies would embrace: over 50% of our executive leadership team is female. In an environment marked by such gender disparity, at Talkdesk we have narrowed the gap and are able to reap the benefits of a different—female—perspective, set the example, and be mentors to other women.

I’m also grateful for the incredible marketing team members who work together to make magic happen. Our focus on customers and our growth mindset keep leading us forward as a team and within the Talkdesk broader organization. It does take a village, and ours is extraordinary.

Lastly, and on a more personal level, I have so much to be grateful for. We’ve just celebrated Thanksgiving in the United States, a holiday where we gather with family and express our thanks. I’m so thankful for my family who brings a smile to my face every day.

So, when you find yourself in a quiet moment or have trouble falling asleep, remember the people who have touched your life in meaningful ways and reflect on what a blessing you can be to others as well. A grateful, giving heart is the best gift we can give to each other during this season of thanks.
